MY HEAD HURTS!

Hey guys. How have y’all been? I have been great! So today, I’ll be sharing on a somewhat funny incident that happened not so long ago. By God’s grace, last month happened to be the birthday of both my Dad and cousin. We decided to mark it by having a little get together comprising of just family and close friends (should have known better; that when it comes to my family’s celebrations, there is nothing like ‘little.’)

The guest list kept increasing every day, Whew! A day before I and my cousin were to go shopping for the party, we got our different lists together to come up with a budget. I got the total figure calculated before she had the chance to. I then went to show mum in the room and also called my cousin in. They were both shocked at the total figure; truth be told, I was too but by then, mine had kindda worn off.  My cousin was so sure I made a mistake and said to excuse her to go get her phone to do her own calculations. After waiting for like 10 minutes, she still had not returned which was weird. I then took off to go look for her, I think I checked her room, she wasn’t there, I resorted to calling out her name, it was then I heard a faint voice answering from the sitting room. I headed there and to my surprise, she was laying down on the sofa with her headphones plugged in. I asked what she was doing there and why she left us waiting, her reply was so so funny, I laugh even till this day whenever I recall it. She said and I quote, “Ada, please leave me alone. That figure you guys are calling is giving me serious headache and I just want to rest.”  Can you imagine? Lol… E don reach money matter na, headache don show. I told her to come back let’s finalize joor, that not to worry, the money will come. She grudgingly came and we finished the planning.

As God would have it, the party was a huge success. We had more cash than we budgeted for. Isn’t this our God awesome? My own Jehovah Jireh.

On the D-day, my Dad was so happy, that he kept calling as many people as he could remember to “come o, that his birthday party has started.” True that we had more guests than we planned for but just like the multiplication miracle of the five loaves and two fishes, there was more than enough to eat and even some leftovers.

MENU:

  • Drinks
  • Cakes
  • Mexican rice
  • Goat meat peppersoup
  • Oha soup
  • Poundo potato
  • Plantain flour
  • Bread fruit (Ukwa)

I’ll like to conclude with this verse of Scripture, “Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)

If at the end of the day all you have is God, then you have more than enough.

P.S; Please o, don’t be like my cousin that had her head ache simply because of a budget, know and believe that your God is able to supply ALL of your needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:19) Alleluia!
