I have come across numerous quotes that have changed my way of thinking more times than I can count. So my advice to you is this – when next you see a quote that addresses what you might be going through, don’t just hurry past it; read it, meditate on it until it ministers to your soul and finally, believe it! The truth is that most people write these things out of experience. Be discerning though, not all gold is GOLD.
From time to time, I hope to share some of them, which I like to call ‘wisdom nuggets.’
You know what?
Why don’t we start right now?
‘A discouraged heart always exaggerates everything. Do not trust a discouraged spirit, for it will never give you the true picture of you or your situation.’ ~A.W.Tozer (Dangers of a Shallow Faith)
‘If you find that Christianity exhausts you, draining you of your energy, then you are practicing religion rather than enjoying a relationship with Jesus Christ. Your walk with the Lord will not make you weary; it will invigorate you, restore your strength, and energize your life.’ ~A letter from a Mom and Dad to their generations
‘Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job.’ ~Terri Savelle Foy
‘The best investment you’ll ever make is in yourself. It pays 1000:1.’ ~Warren Buffet
‘There is no finish line in personal growth, you continually grow yourself.’ ~Nike
‘People who fly into a rage always make a bad landing.’ ~Will Rogers
‘How much more grievous are the consequences of anger than the causes thereof.’ ~Marcus Aurelius
‘Whatever is begun in anger, ends in shame.’ ~Benjamin Franklin
‘If you hug your ideas too close to your chest, you’ll kill them. Release them and turn them into products.’ ~Temi Koleowo
‘No matter how your red sea looks, stand still. Plant your legs on solid ground.’ ~Priscilla Shirer
Let’s digest these for now. Remember, don’t hurry through them; let them speak to you…
If at the end of the day all you have is God, then you have more than enough.
