If you must look down, it should be to thank God for how far He has brought you and then you face forward and keep climbing. Look for ways and opportunities to connect with people who have gotten to where you aspire to be. If you look down and allow what others are saying get at you, you will fall down and stay at their level. Is that what you want?’ Now, I had always been comfortable standing for the right thing even if it meant standing alone. I just
needed to be encouraged and that advice strengthened my resolve to keep doing the right thing no matter who or what. I knew I couldn’t do something just because every other person was. By God’s grace, that way of life has saved me from a lot of mishaps. I recently told a friend of mine who just handed over a key position in his career,
“Don’t mind the naysayers, they can’t do nothing! You don’t need everyone to make it in life; that will be way too crowded, don’t you think? You just need key people that will help you fulfill destiny. I pray God continues to connect you to them per time.” That’s my prayer for each and every one of us. And it’s okay to sometimes stand alone when you are thoroughly convinced you are standing for the right thing. Dare to ‘Be a stiletto in a room full of flats.’ Learn this and your life will be way easier. If at the end of the day all you have is God, then you have more than enough.
